Since his reinstatement to the WWE Hall of Fame, fans have wondered when or if Hulk Hogan would ever return to WWE events. There were rumors he would appear at RAW 25 and even SummerSlam, but Hogan was merely backstage on his failed “apology tour.”
Perhaps Hogan won’t make his return on US soil. Based on this tweet from the Saudi Minister of Sports Turki Al-Sheikh, The Hulkster will return to WWE at their second Saudi Arabia event “Crown Jewel” taking place in November in the Saudi capital of Riyadh.
The tweet translates to “What is the World Cup that no one is talking about?”. The tweet seems to be about Saudi Arabia hosting a wrestling “World Cup” at Crown Jewel that will determine the “best in the world” (sorry Punk).
For further context, Al-Sheikh also sent out this tweet critical of Qatar’s 2022 World Cup.
“Qatar World Cup file carries a lot of scandals and excesses how long is silence?!”
Saudi Arabia and Qatar are regional power rivals. So, more likely than not Al-Sheikh spilled the beans on Hogan coming to Crown Jewel to brag that Saudi Arabia is hosting the ‘real’ World Cup. Does this mean that Hogan will appear at Crown Jewel? We will know for sure on November 2nd. For now, WWE has said that Hogan won’t be making any appearances for the company in the near future.
