UPDATE: Bob Newhart Informs Fans of Tim Conway’s Current State

Prayers have been flooding in for Tim Conway after it was discovered that he is “almost unresponsive” from dementia. His daughter Kelly is seeking medical power of attorney, claiming she is concerned about the level of care Tim’s wife is choosing for him. Now, Conway’s good friend Bob Newhart has weighed in on the situation.

Kelly filed court documents last week claiming her stepmother Charlene is “planning to move him out of the excellent skilled nursing facility he is currently at” and place him in one that won’t give him access to “registered nurses at all times and his 24-hour caregiver and speech therapist (to help with swallowing).”

This has made many fans concerned that Tim is not just facing a health crisis, but also might not be receiving appropriate care. Conway made us laugh hysterically for decades, so it’s hard to imagine him suffering in this manner.

Fellow funnyman Bob Newhart and his wife are longtime friends of the Conways. He took to Twitter to dispell any thoughts that Charlene is not providing adequate care for her husband.

“To the many fans and friends of Tim Conway,” Newhart shared. “We have been best friends with Charlene and Tim for many years and want to assure you that he is receiving the most devoted care. Sincerely, Ginnie and Bob Newhart.”

The Newharts are obviously siding with Conway’s wife in this public family feud over Tim’s health decisions. Dementia affects not only the person with it but the entire family. That’s evident in this awful family feud. It’s heartbreaking to hear of someone as beloved as Tim Conway have to endure this in his final days.
