Gary Sinise Receives Highest Honor For Helping Veterans!

Gary Sinise has been putting veterans issues front and center for the past several years. The Forrest Gump actor recognizes the sacrifices our veterans have made for our freedom and puts his money and time on the line to respect and help them when needed.

Sinise has been recognized for his many contributions to America’s veterans by being awarded the highest honor any civilian can receive.

“I am so humbled to be here and deeply moved to receive this honor,” Sinise said about being awarded the Army’s George Catlett Marshall Medal. “I know where my freedom comes from, and I will not forget our defenders.”

The Gary Sinise Foundation has helped provide homes for Wounded Warriors and has also sent WWII veterans to visit their museum in New Orleans. Even though he has been recognized for his amazing contributions to improving the lives of veterans, Sinise is rather humble about it, claiming it is an honor to help our heroes.

“It has been a great blessing to know there is something I can do to support the men and women in uniform who defend our nation,” the patriotic actor said.

When he accepted the honor, Sinise promised to continue his work on behalf of veterans. He also encouraged others to step up to the same cause. We can never properly repay our veterans for defending the freedoms we all enjoy.

“For as long as I’m able, I stand with you,” Sinise said. “We can strive to do a little more each day so you will know we will always have your back.”

In addition to helping Wounded Warriors, Sinise entertains our veterans and troops by performing in his Lt. Dan Band. It is important to lift the spirits of those in the military and Sinise does just that through his music.

Gary Sinise is a rarity in Hollywood. His patriotism and willingness to help our veterans are unmatched by other actors. It is wonderful that he is being recognized for those actions. In the video below, Sinise discusses his commitment to veterans and what drives him to do so much for them. We need more people like Gary Sinise!
