At Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view, Carmella – with the help of yet another distraction from James Ellsworth – defeated Asuka a second time to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Following her ill-gotten victory, the Princess of Staten Island tweeted this:

Yes, a lot of people are indeed mad – and Carmella is trolling all of them.

First, ‘Mella responded to “Kevin G” with a long list of reasons why he shouldn’t feel sorry for her:

Then she mocked a couple “smart fans”:

And then she went after the entire internet:

To be honest, I can’t blame her on that last one; internet wrestling fans seem only to watch WWE so they can find something to complain about.

That being said, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I, too, was just a tad bit disappointed in Carmella’s win.

What Is WWE Doing With Asuka?

As I wrote in the Ringside Intel predictions post for Extreme Rules, I (perhaps foolishly) believed that Asuka would win. Unfortunately, it seems that WWE has officially turned the Empress of Tomorrow from an ass-kicking unstoppable force into a comedy routine who’s easily hoodwinked by a chinless wonder. Here’s a depressing fact: the last time Asuka won a PPV match was way back at Elimination Chamber in February.

However, even though I’m disappointed with Asuka’s current direction, it’s not un-fixable. On the contrary, it seems likely that Carmella and Ellsworth will get their comeuppance at SummerSlam.

Think about it: Asuka’s streak ended at WrestleMania, the biggest show of the year. SummerSlam is the second biggest show of the year, so it only makes sense that Asuka would win her first WWE championship there.

Furthermore, this year SummerSlam is once again being held at the Barclays Center, a building that contains a lot of significance for Asuka. It was at the first NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn event that Asuka made her first appearance in NXT, and she successfully defended the NXT Women’s Championship there at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II and III. So it would be a very personal thing indeed for Asuka to capture her first WWE title there.

Also, I have to admit that Carmella has been a very entertaining champion, and WWE is undoubtedly rewarding her for it. But, mark my words: she’ll get a rude awakening in Brooklyn.
