The royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is less than two weeks away, but the couple has just made headlines for the wrong reasons with the surprising news of who was left off the invite list of one of their wedding events.

Fox News reported that the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson is reportedly livid after she was not invited to an intimate evening ceremony hosted by Prince Charles that will take place after the wedding and reception. Ferguson is the ex-wife of Prince Andrew and the mother of his two children. Though they divorced in 1996, they still live together and rumors have swirled at times that they plan to remarry after Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip pass away.

While she is not one of the 250 people invited to this evening event, she is invited to Harry and Meghan’s wedding as well as the reception right after it. Making the snub even worse, however, is the fact that Ferguson’s ex-husband and their two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, are invited to the evening event. This makes it abundantly clear that the royals purposefully do not want Ferguson to be there.

Ferguson, 58, has been complaining about the snub to different social circles for weeks, but the invitation list has not been amended at this time.

Harry and Meghan are set to marry on May 19 in what many are calling the wedding of the year. Ferguson can expect to attend all wedding events when her own daughter Eugenie walks down the this fall as she marries Jack Brooksbank.

Incidents like the Ferguson snub remind us that the royal family really is like any other family in the world. Weddings are beautiful events, but we all know that they can also serve as catalysts to stir up all sorts of family drama. Hopefully, Ferguson can put this snub aside to still put on a brave face and enjoy Harry and Meghan’s wedding!
