Two billion people tuned in to watch Prince Harry marry Meghan Markle on Saturday in what many called the wedding of the year. Most of us expected Harry and Meghan to immediately jet off on their honeymoon to get some much-needed rest. That’s why it came as a surprise when the two delayed their honeymoon to make their first appearance as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at Prince Charles’ 70th birthday party on Tuesday.
Daily Mail reported that Harry and Meghan put their honeymoon on hold to attend the party, which was held in the gardens of Buckingham Palace. The couple reportedly embarked on a very brief getaway after their wedding, with there being talks of taking a future “mini-moon” in Ireland in June or July.
Meghan arrived at the event wearing a white dress by Goat and a hat by Philip Treacy, with her hair pulled up behind her head. If she was nervous at all coming into the event, her fears were quickly offset when a bee flew into Harry’s ear during his speech, causing Meghan to have a full-on giggle fit!
After getting over the bee interruption, Harry got his speech back on track to pay tribute to his father.
“It is your selfless drive to effect change – whether that is to improve the lives of those who are on the wrong path, to save an important piece of our natural heritage, or to protect a particular species under threat – which William and I draw inspiration from every day,” Harry said.

Meghan looked very comfortable in her new role as a royal, and she was seen smiling and laughing with Charles and his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles.
It says a lot about Meghan that she was able to bounce back for an official royal event so soon after that huge wedding. We can only imagine how exhausted she is after getting married in front of the entire world. The social stamina that she had on display at this garden party three days later should put to rest any fears that Meghan does not have what it takes to make it as a royal!
