Meghan Markle’s Dad Embarrasses Her Days Before Wedding

American actress Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are set to get married on Saturday in what many are calling the wedding of the year. It has just been reported that Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, is still going to walk her down the aisle despite allegations that he posed for staged paparazzi photos with U.S.-based photographer Jeff Rayner.

Daily Mail reported that Meghan’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., said that their father is “deeply embarrassed” about the stunt and that he plans to apologize to Meghan personally. Thomas Jr. was referring to claims that their father had secretly collaborated to stage a series of “faked” photographs in the run-up to the royal wedding.

Thomas Sr. reportedly set up a lucrative photo deal with Rayner, and CCTV footage shows him arriving at an Internet cafe with the photographer. Minutes later, the two are seen getting ready to shoot Thomas while he sits at a computer.

“People are quick to judge but they have no idea how much scrutiny we live under,” Thomas Jr. said. “Ever since Meg’s relationship with Harry was made public two years ago we have lived our once normal lives under the spotlight every second.”

Meghan’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, claims that it was her idea to have their father pose for the photos.

“I’m entirely the culprit. I said to him to show the world ‘I’m getting in shape and getting healthy’ so I suggested it to benefit him and the royal family,” she said. When asked if Thomas had been paid, Samantha replied that “It was not money-motivated,” adding: “I have no idea [if he was paid] but if he was it would have been a pittance.”

This comes after Samantha and Thomas Jr. expressed outrage that they were not invited to their sister’s wedding. The Markle family has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons in the past few weeks, and we can’t imagine that the royal family is very happy about it. However, we’re glad to see that Meghan is still moving forward with having her father walk her down the aisle, regardless of what he is doing with the paparazzi!
