Star Of ‘The Middle’ Reveals Moment He Accepted Jesus As His Savior

It’s hard to be a Christian in Hollywood. But, one well-known teen actor is making his belief in Christ public. Atticus Shaffer starred on ABC’s “The Middle” for several years. The show just had its series finale, but Atticus is using his platform to spread an important message. He wants people to know that his acceptance of Jesus is an important part of who he is.

Shaffer has made us laugh as “Brick” on the sitcom for nine years. It was important for him to be on a show that had a moral compass. He didn’t have to compromise his values by acting on “The Middle” for nine years. In fact, other Christians involved in the show were supportive of each other and offered up prayers regularly. Patricia Heaton was also on the show and does not shy from her Christian beliefs either.

Shaffer has brittle bone disease. While speaking with PureFlix’s “Pure Talk,” about a painful injury due to the disorder a few years back, he shared that it led him to think more deeply about God — and salvation. He told the hosts this is how he came to Christ. The injury helped him re-evaluate his priorities and led him to focus on being a good Christian.

“I really committed to Christianity when I was 15,” Shaffer said. “I just knew I had that draw to say, ‘I need to know the Lord. I need to know where I stand. I need to pick a side.’”

Shaffer was baptized in 2015 and dedicated his life to Jesus Christ. He is very grateful to have been able to work on a sitcom that supported his decision to live as a Christian.

Atticus discusses his faith in the video below.

So many people are seeking moral or Christian entertainment. The recent success of “I Can Only Imagine” proves that. It’s important to support actors like Atticus Shaffer who stand up for what he believes while working in Hollywood.

Share this if you believe we need to hear more Christian voices speak out in Hollywood!
