The Palin family has been through a lot of changes in recent years and they are about to have one more. Bristol’s husband Dakota Meyer has filed for divorce after less than two years of marriage.
The couple has two daughters. Atlee Bay is 9 months old and Sailor Grace is 2 years old. Bristol also has a 9-year-old son named Tripp from another relationship.
Meyer, who is the second youngest living Medal of Honor recipient, moved out of the couple’s Austin home around Christmas. He filed for divorce from Palin two weeks ago.
The couple has had a lot of ups and downs during their relationship. They announced their engagement in March of 2015 but called off the wedding mere days before the planned May 2015 ceremony.
In 2016, they shared the news that they reunited and had gotten married. “Life is full of ups and downs but in the end, you’ll end up where you’re supposed to be. We are so happy to share with loved ones the wonderful news that we got married!”
Just last month, the decorated Marine shared an Instagram picture of Bristol and their three children. The caption read, “What matters.” It appears that neither spouse is wearing a wedding ring.
“Hard work and God’s grace are the foundation of our new life together,” the couple said when they announced they had already gotten married in 2016. “With the love and support of our family, we know we can get through anything.”
Apparently, that is not the case anymore. This relationship appeared to be a bit of a fairytale when it began, but it is ending in heartbreak. The couple is no longer following one another on social media, which is evidence of a rather abrasive split.
The Palins have had a challenging past few months. In December, Sarah Palin called 911 when her oldest son Track allegedly attacked his father. The oldest Palin child was arrested on charges of felony burglary, fourth-degree assault, and criminal mischief. The Palins believe Track suffers from PTSD after an overseas deployment with the military.
