Python kills owner

A snake enthusiast was killed by a massive python that he considered to be his “baby.” The 31-year-old British man was found dead near his 8-foot python, ironically named Tiny, who was hiding nearby. He had Tiny since she was small enough to fit in his hand, but that didn’t seem to matter to the python.

An autopsy revealed that Dan Brandon died of asphyxiation. His beloved python wrapped herself around his neck and crushed him until he could no longer breathe.

Brandon’s mother Barbara said he had 10 snakes and 23 tarantulas at their family’s home. While authorities believe the snake either coiled up around her owner or tripped him, the grieving mother claims the snake loved her son. She also stated that Brandon had become more cautious around Tiny after she became so large.

“He was more wary of Tiny than the other snakes. He said she’s very strong. He had stopped putting her round his neck because she was so strong and unpredictable,” his mom reported.

Brandon had a burst blood vessel, had a hemorrhage behind his eye and had congested lungs. All of this was caused by the massive snake that Dan Brandon believed loved him like a father. There were no bite marks on his body. There also were no signs that Brandon struggled to escape the snake’s crushing attack that cost him his life.

Brandon’s mother was home at the time of his death. She heard a noise that sounded like a dumbbell hitting the ground. When she went to check, she found her son lying dead on the floor. She immediately called for help, but it was too late. “I cry every day and night and relive that evening all the time,” she said.

Most of us realize that snakes don’t get emotionally attached to people. They will even kill people who take care of them, as Dan Brandon’s death proved. This python didn’t love him. It was doing what was instinctual. I hate to say I told you so, but…
