Hard to believe but January 22nd 2018 marks Kofi Kingston’s TENTH year as a WWE Superstar. He still moves like he did ten years ago, but that belies all the change he’s gone through. From Jamaican stereotype (even though he was born in Ghana and raised in Boston) to title contender and Sole Survivor back down to jobber. In 2014 the New Day sparked a career renaissance for the high-flyer teaming him with Xavier Woods and Big E.
In an industry that seems to chew up and spit out more failures than successes, Kofi’s consistent employment in WWE is a rare and admirable feat.
Though never mentioning specifics, it is clear there are references to The New Day, CM Punk, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, and others past and present in WWE.
Here’s Kofi’s debut, which came on the reincarnated and watered-down ECW. Nice to see he is back in jumpsuits. The more things change…
