bluegrass band thunderstruck

Many bands have tried and failed to cover AC/DC songs. It’s hard for others to do these songs justice. They are beloved classics to rock fans. But, Finnish country band Steve’n’Seagulls does a remarkable job performing these songs in a completely different style.

They play bluegrass versions of hard rock and heavy metal songs. It’s an unusual combination of styles, but these high energy Americana style musicians pack a punch when they put their spin on these songs. Their AC/DC cover of “Thunderstruck” went viral, accumulating over 53 million views!

They might be Finnish, but you’d never know that watching Steve’n’Seagulls perform. They have Americana style music down perfectly. They even play the part well with their clothing. They are all either shirtless or wearing wife beaters! Also, the band’s name is a pun on American actor Steven Seagal.

I never expected to hear AC/DC played on the banjo or an accordion, but these men completely nail “Thunderstruck.” They even have someone playing the spoons. The accordion player appropriately rides in on a tractor! You can watch this terrific performance in the video below.

These Finnish hillbillies made this classic song sound like their own original! They are like the country version of AC/DC. That was simply a terrific performance.

This isn’t the only AC/DC song the band covered. They also have an amazing rendition of “You Shook Me All Night Long.” I never could imagine these songs working well with bluegrass music, but Steve’n’Seagulls has completely changed my mind. I’m a fan. Thanks to these guys, I can finally understand all the lyrics to this song!

You can see them perform “You Shook Me All Night Long” in the video below.

I never expected to see hockey, bluegrass, and AC/DC together, but this really works well! I love it!

Share this if you loved Steve’n’Seagulls version of these AC/DC songs!
