Kate Middleton pregnancy

Things are slowly improving for Kate Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum. This is a very extreme sort of morning sickness that some pregnant women experience and can interfere with your daily activities as it often demands medical intervention so the mother-to-be can stay hydrated.

While the future Queen of England is still not feeling great, she announced this week that she is well enough to take Prince George to school. This is an important step in regaining control of her life and her schedule.

On Wednesday, Kate opened the School Leaders Forum held by children’s mental health charity, Place2Be. While she still is experiencing morning sickness, she has been able to finally take part in Prince George’s morning drop off at school.

“As a mother, just getting used to leaving my own child at the school gates, it is clear to me that it takes a whole community to help raise a child,” Kate told the audience. “Whether we are school leavers, teachers, support staff or parents, we are all in this together.”

Prince William accompanied their son to his first day of school at Thomas Battersea. It was probably heartbreaking for Kate that she was not able to see George at school for the first time, but her health obviously takes priority.

Many women with hyperemesis gravidarum miss out on some major events because of their illness. Kate is familiar with this as she has had the condition during all three of her pregnancies. This current pregnancy is the worst she has experienced. Kate even had to cancel her entire public schedule for several weeks as she battled the worst of her morning sickness.

Thankfully, she is well enough now to take Prince George to school. Seeing the oldest off to school is an important milestone for a mother. Unfortunately, she had to miss the first day but she will obviously make up for lost time.
