Celine Dion wasn’t sure how to handle her concert on the Las Vegas Strip just two days after the horrific mass shooting. The emotional singer wasn’t sure if it was appropriate to perform, but the decision she made is one that highlights her strong character.
The “My Heart Will Go On” singer announced at her show that all proceeds from the concert would be going to the victims on behalf of all those who attended the concert. This equates to about a $500,000 donation. This is a rather amazing way to stand strong in the face of a horrific event. Not only will the money benefit those who need it, but it shows that monsters like the one who killed and injured so many on Sunday will not win over our resolve. They will not frighten us into hiding.
