Steve Martin has been a comedy staple for decades. He cut his teeth on professional comedy as a writer on the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. He must have made a huge impression because he didn’t even have any writing experience at the time!
Martin even got a chance to perform on the show in 1968. He was so young that his hair wasn’t even gray yet! He did a magic show that is unlike any other magic show I have ever seen. The expressions of the audience are rather hilarious.
Check out this flashback video below of the beginning of Steve Martin’s career below.
Steve Martin’s first job was at The Magic Shop at Disneyland. That is where he learned his famous Steve Martin magic tricks. He parlayed that into comedy, opening a lot of doors for himself. His stand up routine is really unlike anyone else’s!
Steve is also an accomplished banjo player. You can see a video of him playing Foggy Mountain Breakdown with Earl Scruggs by clicking here!
