A video of an Irish family trying to catch a bat in the house is going viral for a good reason. It’s hilarious!
It’s almost like a Saturday Night Live skit. The father, Derry Fleming, is seen in the kitchen trying to catch a bat with a towel. First, he starts out by trying to grab the bat with a tea towel. That clearly isn’t going to work so he upgrades to a larger towel.
His son Tadhg is taking the video and yells at a woman standing behind a door, “Maureen, you’re no help behind the door,” as he is also hiding behind a door! Throughout the video, Tadhg is yelling at his dad, “Catch him, Derry!”
In the middle of all the excitement, the dog gets scared from all the commotion and pees on the kitchen floor. This video is made even better by the thick Irish accent heard throughout the entire ordeal. It’s so crazy that it’s almost too funny to be true. Nobody wants a bat in the house, but Tadhg isn’t exactly encouraging as he continually yells behind the door.
At one point, Tadhg even yells at his father, “He’s making a mockery out of you, boy.” This is hilarious considering that Derry is the only one trying to catch the bat while Tadhg and his mother hide!
My favorite part of this video is the reference to MMA fighter Conor McGregor, but I won’t spoil it for you!
