Yes, you are reading it right. The WWE celebrates Dinosaurs Day. Of course, the WWE does this true WWE-style, with some original photos! Needless to say, the reactions of the WWE Universe have been mixed to say the least.
Only the WWE comes up with this stuff, or should I say WWE Creative. To celebrate dinosaurs day, they released a bunch of edited photographs, which feature some of the extinct creatures we celebrate on Dinosaurs Day. To see all the photographs for Dinosaurs Day, head over to the WWE website!
While it is certainly fun for kids that have a love for the WWE and dinosaurs, the overall reaction from the adult WWE Universe has not been that positive.
With WWE cutbacks still playing the mind of the Universe, the edited photographs can count on a lot of heat from wrestling fans. Many see it as a waste of time and money, opposed to something original and fun. Needless to say, the reactions were interesting.
I have to be honest, when I saw the photos for the first time, I was quite amused by it all. However, it soon felt a little sour, especially with all the cutbacks the WWE is intent on making.
After WrestleMania, subscribers to the WWE Network did not reach the mark the company wished to reach. The company also invested heavily in the WWE UK Championship, which seems to have lost some steam. The result is a reduced profit margin for the company, which they are now trying to correct with some serious cutbacks.
While I find the photographs quite funny and a nice “fluff piece,” I’m not feeling it because of the planned cutbacks. As wrestling fans, we want to see more of the WWE with better story-lines and bookings, but this has left much to be desired over the months.
Some Superstars that could be major crowd-drawers have been neglected; this includes Shinsuke Nakamura. The WWE only clocked on much later and has now given Nakamura a match at Summerslam for the title. However, if Nakamura loses, I predict the consequences will be devastating for the company. Nobody wants a longer title run for Jinder Mahal, especially with the controversy that has been surrounding him. And don’t get me started about paper champion Brock Lesnar and his “advocate”.
I get what the WWE was trying to do with the photographs and I enjoyed them. However, this does not make me change my mind on the state of the WWE at the moment. Things need to change dramatically. Fans are tired of the poor bookings and less than interesting story-lines. So, instead of these pictures, maybe their effort should go elsewhere?
Did you enjoy the photographs? Do you believe the WWE should have spent their money elsewhere? Or was this a good investment? Let us know your unsalted opinions in the comment section below, and we will be more than happy to read them!
