Natalee Holloway Update! This May Be What Happened To Her Body

Natalee Holloway never came home after going to Aruba on a high school trip in 2005. The teenager’s story was widely publicized in the United States as Americans watched in horror as no progress was made in the case.

Joran van der Sloot has been suspected of killing the Alabama teen, but he was never held accountable. There were accusations of preferential treatment towards Joran because his father was a judge. Joran is now in a Peruvian jail for killing a different woman.

Dave Holloway is still trying to find out what happened to his daughter. The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway premieres on Oxygen on August 18th and viewers will go with Dave to Aruba as he discovers the biggest break in the case.

Dave has met with an informant named Gabriel who said Joran relayed the information on the teenager’s death to a mutual friend named John Ludwick.

Gabriel says that Natalee was given a date rape drug and began foaming at the mouth when Joran tried to kiss her. She choked on her own vomit and died 2-3 hours later. The informant said, “she died, and within two to three hours [Joran, with help from his late father, Paul van der Sloot] buried her.”

Five years after Natalee disappeared, Joran offered Ludwick $1,500 to dig up the Alabama teen’s body, have it cremated, and then have her ashes thrown into the sea. Gabriel reports this is what happened to her body and is the reason she was never located.

This six episode series is expected to be rather gripping. So many of us were emotionally invested in Natalee’s disappearance. We identified both with the naive teen who wanted to have fun with her friends and her parents who were desperately searching for her. If what Gabriel says is true, then they can have closure knowing what happened, but they won’t be able to bring her body home.
