Dillon Reagan helped prevent a kidnapping at the Home Depot store where he worked for four years. Some might consider him to be a hero, but Home Depot didn’t. They fired the 32-year-old.
A co-worker yelled for help because there was a violent dispute in the parking lot. Dillan called 911 and headed out to the parking lot.
A woman outside the Portland, Oregon store was yelling, “Somebody help me, please! He’s stealing my kid, he’s kidnapping my child!”
The 911 dispatcher asked him to follow the man who had taken the child. Three blocks later, police arrived and arrested the suspect the Home Depot employee was following. And that’s why he was fired.

Apparently, Dillon had an argument with a co-worker in the same month. Home Depot somehow viewed saving a customer’s child as an infraction as well.
After the local news started covering the story, Home Depot did an about-face and offered to rehire Dillon. But, as Dillon says in the video below, he isn’t interested in working for the company after this experience.
What an awful thing for Home Depot to do. The man assisted police by doing what the dispatcher asked and he was rewarded with a pink slip. I can’t blame him for not wanting to return to work there after that incident!
