north korea nuclear weapons

President Trump has been pretty firm in his stance on North Korea. Kim Jong-un was used to getting a free pass from Barack Obama and Trump’s stance is much different.

The President attempted to get China involved to help reel the North Korean tyrant under control. After all, North Korea is more of a threat to China as they are in close proximity. But, China isn’t doing much, so President Trump took to Twitter to show that he is disappointed with China’s inaction.

Nikki Haley, the Ambassador to the United Nations, also tweeted about China being careless when it comes to North Korea.

China retaliated in the state run newspaper Xinhua. Commentary poked fun at Trump’s tweeting and accused him of stabbing China in the back. This came after North Korea tested a missile that might possibly be able to reach the United States.

“Trump is something of a character, and he enjoys tweeting,” the commentary stated. “But an emotional response cannot be the guiding policy to solve the Korean peninsula’s nuclear issue…In order to solve the nuclear issue on the peninsula, relevant parties should use practical action and show sincerity, stop shirking responsibility, and especially should not stab China in the back.”

Had our previous leaders held North Korea responsible for its hostile actions, we likely wouldn’t be in this situation. The world has forgotten what an American president who stands up for America’s best interests looks like. They are getting a quick reminder on that.
