Can Baron Corbin Recover From WWE Mistakes?

It is certainly not the first time that the WWE has been unfair towards a wrestler they were pushing before. The latest victim to an unfair treatment is Baron Corbin, who lost his opportunity for the title through a dramatic & failed cash-in. The question is: can Corbin recover from the recent mistakes the WWE made with him as a wrestler?

Called up Too Early?

When Corbin got called up to the main roster, I was one of the people who said it was too early. Corbin was barely established within the WWE Universe, yet they made him the winner of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Needless to say, there was no connection from the crowd where his win was concerned.

In addition to being called up too early, Corbin did not standout much after his spectacular win at the battle royal. Unfortunately, the WWE did not follow-up on his win. Instead, he was stuck with underwhelming bookings and a serious lack of interesting story lines.

No More Exposure On Talking Smack

The cancellation of Talking Smack has been devastating for many wrestlers, but especially Baron Corbin. The after-show gave Corbin an excellent platform to grow his character and finally connect with the WWE Universe. Unfortunately, that opportunity is now gone.

Stuck to WrestleMania Kick-Off Show

The kick-off show of WrestleMania is not as anticipated as the main event, simply because the event is so long. Most people are simply preparing their snacks. Unfortunately, at WrestleMania 33, Baron Corbin was put in an abysmal pre-show match with Dean Ambrose. Despite that, both Ambrose and Corbin were deserving on a spot on the main card at that time, but WWE missed the boat.

Winning Money in the Bank

I have to be honest, one of the last people I believed would win Money in the Bank was Baron Corbin, especially when you consider the other parties in the match. People felt quite sour about his win, mainly because he won over fan favorites AJ Styles and Sami Zayn. Of course, it is not the first time a heel beats a face, but it was too soon for Corbin because of the lack of a connection with the WWE Universe.

Rumors of Invalid Pin

There are some rumors circulating that the failed cash-in of Corbin was not a failed one at all, mainly because of the fact Jinder’s foot was under the bottom rope at the time of the pin. Technicality? Or a well-founded rumor that could see Corbin being a surprise addition to the match between Mahal and Nakamura?

While it could be a ploy of the WWE to interfere with the match between Shinsuke Nakamura and Jinder Mahal, at this point it is highly unlikely. I do not think it is too late for Corbin to recover, but the connection he needs with the universe will need to be cultivated all over again (if it ever was there to begin with).

What do you think about the way Corbin was treated? Let us know in the comment section below!
