Country music legend Reba McEntire is known for her country hits, but she changed it up with a Christian album in 2017. McEntire’s 32nd studio album is the first gospel album she’s made, and it’s magnificent. The album resonated with Reba’s country music fans, and it crossed genre lines gaining popularity with gospel music fans as well.
Sing it Now: Songs of Faith & Hope is filled with songs that Christians will love. “Back To God” is one of the songs on that album.
Reba puts her everything into this song and video. Take a look:
Reba spoke to Rare Country about this song. Everyone knows that there are so many problems in this world that we as individual people just can’t fix. She emphasizes in this interview that we need to give those problems up to God.
If you liked “Back To God,” you should listen to her sing, “Oh, How I Love Jesus!”
I love that she’s using her voice to promote her faith and the word of Jesus!
The album won Bluegrass/Country/Roots Album of the Year at the 2017 Gospel Music Association’s Dove Awards. This is the Christian version of the Grammys.
“These songs of faith and hope, that’s what you gotta have when you’re going through bad times – and good times. You gotta have faith and hope to carry you through each day,” Reba said about the songs on Sing It Now.
We’re glad that Reba decided to fully embrace her Christian faith. These days, there isn’t enough of it – and some people want God out of public life entirely. Well, that won’t happen as long as believers like Reba are around!
