A drone caught some fantastic and incredibly rare footage off the coast of Australia.
A pod of false killer whales hunted a shark. The video shows the whales tiring the shark out with a chase and then the lead whale grabs the shark in its mouth.
False killer whales aren’t common in this area. Despite their name, these whales are from the dolphin family. They are the third largest oceanic dolphin and typically hunt squid or fish, so this shark hunt is quite unusual.

Marine biologists spend a significant amount of time and resources at sea attempting to see these sorts of events, while drones provide a better viewpoint at a fraction of the cost. Perhaps, we will see drones being used more often to capture oceanic occurrences.
