Head of programming for Apple TV+, Matt Cherniss, says that “Ted Lasso has been nothing short of a juggernaut, inspiring a passionate fanbase all over the world, and delivering endless joy and laughter, all while spreading kindness, compassion, and unwavering belief.”
Apple TV+ has also officially confirmed this as well, with their Instagram account posting a photo of a stadium seat with “4” written on it, above the words “Ted Lasso”.
After Ted Lasso‘s global debut back in August 2020, the show broke records quickly, with season one becoming the most Emmy-nominated comedy series. It even earned a rare back-to-back Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy for its first two seasons on air.

It’s safe to say that fans are on the edge of their seats waiting for the next season to drop. But Ted Lasso season 4 has one big change coming that might shock fans. On the New Heights podcast, Sudeikis confirmed that the next season will have a different premise with his character. In this season, the wholesome coach will turn to a different team, specifically, a women’s team.

Many assume that the fourth season will focus on the AFC Richmond Women’s Team from the end of season 3, but we don’t know for certain.
“As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap’, in season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be,” Sudeikis says in a press release.
While no other cast members have been confirmed, Ted Lasso mainstays Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, and Brett Goldstein all reportedly signed up back in summer 2024. Hopefully, we can learn more about what’s to come for Ted Lasso soon.
