Sylvester Stallone’s bitter divorce from his estranged wife Jennifer Flavin has taken a surprising turn, as it’s been revealed that he couple didn’t have a prenuptial agreement, meaning that the former Rocky star has no way to protect his $400 million fortune.

Stallone And Flavin Had No Prenup
Daily Mail reported that Stallone, 76, is currently trying to come to a divorce settlement with Flavin, 54, who he has been married to since 1997. Each of them have requested an abatement, which puts all court proceedings on hold while they negotiate the terms of their divorce.
Sources close to the situation have made it clear that despite the abatement requests, the divorce is still proceeding. It is believed that this is being used as a tactic to keep their divorce terms more private than they would be if they were hashed out in court.
“The Parties agree that is in the best interests of each of them individually, and more importantly collectively as a family, to resolve all issues attendant to the dissolution of their marriage in a dignified, amicable, and private manner out-of-court,” the abatement orders stipulate.
Stallone and Flavin likely never signed a prenuptial agreement because their 1997 courthouse wedding was rushed. While she has a sizeable amount of money from her career as a model career and her Serious Skincare cosmetics line, it seems plausible that Stallone will still be legally required to give Flavin a major portion of his $400 million fortune.

Flavin Files For Divorce
Flavin filed for divorce last month after 25 years of marriage and accused Stallone of trying to move their marital assets; allegations the Hollywood star denied. The actor’s lawyers fired back in court documents stating that Stallone “has not engaged in any conduct which constitutes intentional dissipation, depletion and/or waste of marital assets.”
After her filing, Flavin told People Magazine,”I’m sad to announce that after 25 years of marriage I have filed for divorce from my husband Sylvester Stallone. While we will no longer be married, I will always cherish the more than 30-year relationship that we shared, and I know we are both committed to our beautiful daughters. I ask for privacy for our family as we amicably move forward.”
Stallone and Flavin are the parents of three adult daughters: Sophia, 26, Sistine, 24, and Scarlet, 20.

Stallone ‘Blindsided’ By Filing
A friend of Stallone’s declared that the actor was “blindsided” by Flavin’s filing.
“Sylvester’s intent was to work things out with Jennifer,” he said. “Now I don’t know [what will happen] because she decided to go public with everything.”
Stallone and Flavin married nearly a decade after meeting at a restaurant. He was previously married to Sasha Czack from 1974 to 1985 and Brigitte Nielsen from 1985 to 1987. Aside from the three daughters he has with Flavin, Stallone shared with Czack sons Sage, who died in July of 2012, and Seargeoh.

It seems that Stallone may be on the verge of learning the hard way that regardless of how in love you are, it’s important to sign a prenup agreement if you’re worth hundreds of millions of dollars. It will certainly be interesting to see how this divorce plays out moving forward.
