Taron Egerton is renowned for playing action-packed characters in his role in the Kingsman franchise. But when it comes to television series, he’s a beloved character in the Apple TV miniseries Black Bird, where he gets a chance out of prison by befriending a serial killer, which is based on a true story.

The creator of Black Bird, Dennis Lehane, is back again with Taron Egerton with another series. And this is how you can stream Smoke, as well as what it’s about.

The new crime drama, Smoke, premiered on June 27 with the first two episodes. The story is inspired by the podcast Firebug, and follows a detective and an arson investigator who team up to find and stop two serial arsonists, leading them directly into a “twisted game of secrets and suspicions,” according to the synopsis.

And just like Black Bird is based on real events, so is Smoke. Even though the show is fictional, the podcast that it takes inspiration from looks into deadly arsonists that hit Southern California back in the ’80s and ’90s. The true story centers on John Orr, a former fire captain who ended up being convicted of setting multiple fires, including the one that killed four people.

Of course, the show will change the setting, characters, and more, but it still holds on to the same story and creepy tone.

Egerton will once again star in the series, but will also star alongside Jurnee Smollett and John Leguizamo. The series will have nine episodes, each one airing Friday night after the first two drop.

So, how can you stream Smoke starring Taron Egerton? Smoke, like Black Bird, will be exclusive to Apple TV+, so you’ll need to subscribe to watch the series. The streaming platform offers a seven-day trial for users, but then you’ll need to pay $9.99 a month going forward.
