Whoopi Goldberg has found herself in hot water this week after former Disney star Bella Thorne posted an emotional video to Instagram over comments “The View” host made about her private photos getting hacked. Thorne, 21, broke down in tears as she blasted Goldberg for her remarks.
Fox News reported that it all started on Monday, when “The View’s” panel was discussing Thorne’s situation. After a hacker contacted Thorne threatening to release her nude photos, the actress decided to “take the power back” by releasing the images herself.
“I don’t care how old you are. … You don’t take nude photos of yourself,” Goldberg said. “Once you take that picture, it goes into the cloud and it’s available to any hacker who wants it, and if you don’t know that in 2019, that this is an issue, I’m sorry, you don’t get to do that.”

Thorne held nothing back in her response to Whoopi as she posted a video of her breaking down on her Instagram page, which has nearly 20 million followers.
“Shame on you Whoopi. Shame on you for putting that public opinion out there like that for every young girl to think that they’re disgusting for even taking a photo like that. Shame on you,” Thorne began.
“I’m not gonna lie, I want to say I feel pretty disgusting, you know, I feel pretty disgusting, Whoopi, now that everyone’s seen my sh*t. I hope you’re so f**king happy,” she added. “I can only imagine all the kids who have their s**t released and then they commit suicide. You’re so crazy for thinking such terrible things on such an awful situation.”
Thorne went on to say that she was scheduled to make an appearance on “The View,” but she is now reconsidering going through with it because she does not “want to be beaten down by a bunch of older women for my body and my sexuality.”
“I don’t really want you guys talking about your views to young girls because I would not want my daughter to learn that and I would never say that to her,” Thorne said.
Thorne sends Goldberg a message
Not stopping there, Thorne also penned a blistering note to Goldberg, posting that on her social media as well.
“Blaming girls for taking the photo in the first place? Is sick and honestly disgusting. So what a girl can’t send her boyfriend that she misses photos of her that are sexy? Thing’s he’s already seen?”
“I as a woman should be so scared walking around my home, being on my phone, doing anything? Is that what you want our women to be like? Scared of the masses for their sexuality??” Is that what you want? I don’t.”
“I’m offended for anyone who has ever taken a sexy photo. I am offended for Jennifer Lawrence who feels publicly raped. I am offended for every person who has committed suicide for someone leaking their nudes. Ur view on this matter is honestly awful and I hope u change ur mindset as u are on a show talking to young girls.”
Fans have been rallying behind Thorne and joining her in blasting Goldberg for what she said.
Saying “well if u didn’t take the picture” is no different than saying if u didn’t wear short skirts or if u weren’t drinking…stop blaming victims for the actions of predators…whoopi

I’m with @bellathorne !! Like ???? Blaming the girl??? And she is the victim here????

Someone stole @bellathorne’s nudes and the stupid witches at the View blamed her for it. Revenge porn happens to so many women and girls… they’re shaming all of them. God that show is awful.

Others, however, took Goldberg’s side and said that she did nothing wrong.
How are you gonna cry on the internet because Whoopi Goldberg told you not to take nudes SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY COULD BE STOLEN.
That’s not slut shaming that just common sense at this point. After “the fappening” you know the possibility of being hacked.
Bella Thorne you are soft. pic.twitter.com/tccAZlKTMf

How y’all mad at Whoopi? She just stating facts. Hackers gonna hack. And didn’t Bella Thorne post them herself to take back power? So doesn’t that mean she hacked herself? lol pic.twitter.com/rPMNre8ZfT

I can see both sides of this situation. If Goldberg is going to proclaim herself to be a liberal feminist, she should really be standing with women in situations like this one. That being said, all Goldberg was doing was giving Thorne some wisdom and pointing out that in this day and age, celebrities should know that it’s always a possibility that they will be hacked.
