Earlier this week, Meghan Markle announced that she has written a children’s book that celebrates the bonds between fathers and their children.
However, British television personality Piers Morgan is calling her out for her “staggering hypocrisy” or writing a children’s book about dads when she has cut her own father Thomas Markle out of her life for years.

Meghan’s book “The Bench,” which is illustrated by Pixar artist Christian Robinson, depicts the relationship between fathers and their sons, according to The Wrap.
Meghan claims that the book was inspired by a poem that she wrote for her husband Prince Harry weeks after the birth of their son Archie, who turns two on May 6.
“That poem became this story,” Meghan said. “Christian layered in beautiful and ethereal watercolor illustrations that capture the warmth, joy and comfort of the relationship between fathers and sons from all walks of life.”
“This representation was particularly important to me and Christian and I worked closely to depict this special bond through an inclusive lens,” she added. “My hope is that ‘The Bench’ resonates with every family, no matter the make-up, as much as it does with mine.”

Morgan Shuts Meghan Down
Morgan was not having any of it.
In a column for Daily Mail, he wrote that “The Bench” is on “the current shortlist for the title of World’s Most Ludicrously Inappropriate Book.”
“I laughed out loud when the news broke via her ecstatic publishers, and even louder when I read the accompanying gush-laden statements,” Morgan wrote.
Not stopping there, he added that this is yet another act of “gargantuan hypocrisy” from Meghan. She has not spoken to her own father since before her 2018 wedding.
“Lest we forget, Ms Markle has ruthlessly disowned her father Thomas and refuses to have anything to do with him despite the fact they now live just 70 miles from each other,” he explained.
Morgan then pointed out that Meghan also has put distance between her husband and his own father Prince Charles.
“The pair of them also branded Harry’s royal family a bunch of heartless racists, though no evidence has yet emerged to support any of their outrageously hurtful and damaging claims,” Morgan said, referring to their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey back in March.
He continued, “The whole notion of Meghan Markle dishing out advice to anyone about the relationship between fathers and children is absolutely ridiculous given the appalling relationships she and her husband have with their own fathers.”

Harry’s Biographer Feels The Same Way
Morgan isn’t the only person who feels this way. Harry’s biographer Angela Levin told The Sun that she feels similarly about this book.
“Once again we have the hypocrisy of Meghan and Harry saying one thing but not doing it themselves,” she said. “I don’t know how you can write about a boy, a son or a father, when you haven’t spoken to your own father for years. It is extraordinary.”
Of all the things that Meghan could write about, it does seem a bit absurd that she would write about fathers’ relationships with their children given the fact that she doesn’t speak to her own dad.
Once again, Piers Morgan may have hit the nail on the head when it comes to assessing Meghan’s latest move.
