Backstory: Sharon Osbourne Reveals Husband Ozzy Is Undergoing Major Surgery
‘He’s Been In A Lot Of Pain’
A family source told Page Six that the surgery, which was carried out on Monday, was done to remove and realign pins in Ozzy’s neck and back. The source added that there will be a “lengthy amount of convalescence” after the operation.
“Ozzy is 73 and any kind of surgery when you get older is difficult,” the insider explained. “This is quite major. He’s having the pins in his neck and back realigned from when he had a fall back in 2019. He’s been in a lot of pain.”
Sharon had revealed last week that this “major operation” could “determine the rest of his life.”
“He has a very major operation on Monday, and I have to be there,” Sharon said while appearing on British television. “It’s really going to determine the rest of his life.”
Sharon ended up flying back to Los Angeles from London to be there for Ozzy amidst this surgery.

Ozzy’s History
Ozzy suffered extensive injuries in a quad biking accident back in 2003, and they were exacerbated in 2019 when he suffered a fall at home after he got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and tripped in the dark. This left him requiring 15 screws to be inserted in his spine.
“When I had the fall, it was pitch black,” he recalled around that time. “I went to the bathroom and I fell. I just fell and landed like a slam on the floor and I remember lying there thinking, ‘Well, you’ve done it now,’ really calm. Sharon [called] an ambulance. After that, it was all downhill.”
This forced Ozzy to reschedule all of his 2019 live dates on the “No More Tours 2 Tour.” On top of all that, Ozzy revealed in 2020 that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
“I’m not dying from Parkinson’s. I’ve been working with it most of my life,” he said at the time.
Last month, Ozzy publicly stated that he was waiting to receive surgery on his neck.
“I’m just waiting on some more surgery on my neck,” he told Classic Rock last month. “I can’t walk properly these days. I have physical therapy every morning. I am somewhat better, but nowhere near as much as I want to be to go back on the road.”
Sharon And Kelly Visit Ozzy
Fox News reported that Sharon and their daughter Kelly were seen wearing protective face masks as they walked into the hospital to visit Ozzy on Monday. Sharon could be seen wheeling a large suitcase, while Kelly had an oversized purse on her.

Despite all of his health problems, Ozzy said recently that he’s optimistic about his future.
“At f—ing 73, I’ve done pretty well,” he said. “I don’t plan on going anywhere, but my time’s going to come.”
Ozzy Osbourne certainly is one of a kind, and we need him in this world! Please join us in saying a prayer that his surgery was a success and that he has a very speedy recovery.
