The upcoming MGM+ series, Robin Hood, is the highly anticipated story that will put a new spin on the legendary tale, with a cast featuring iconic Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones) returning to his villain era as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Jack Patten (War Machine) as Robin Hood himself, and Connie Nielsen (Gladiator) as Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine.
The teaser is already here, giving fans a taste of what’s the come without giving too much away. With the two-episode premiere just two months away, on November 2, this is an exciting look at the series.
Along with the leading cast, the ensemble will include Lauren McQueen (The Wasting) as Marian, Lydia Peckham (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes) as Priscilla of Nottingham, and Steven Waddington (The Reckoning) as the Earl of Huntingdon.

The story follows Rob, played by Patten, portraying a Saxon forester’s son whose world is thrown into chaos after the Norman conquest. His transformation from regular man into the leader of a rebel band unfolds alongside Marian, a sharp-witted daughter of a Norman lord who favors political maneuvering over domestic pursuits. Their intertwining paths propel the story.
The trailer offers a lot of insight as to what’s in store for viewers. Sean Bean is a scheming, ruthless antoganoist that is determined to keep the town’s people poor under his oppressive control, the complete opposite from his prior role as Eddard Stark.
Michael Wright, head of MGM+, said in a press release: “This is a new imagining of the classic tale of the roguish outlaw hero who stole from the rich and gave to the poor. It’s an exciting, smart, sweeping, romantic adventure that brings historical authenticity, psychological depth, and a heightened focus on the relationship between Rob and Marian to the beloved story.”
The 10-episode series will have a two-episode premiere on Sunday, November 2. New episodes will air weekly, leading up to the season finale in late December.
