New Footage Leaks Of ‘The View’ Protesters Storming Stage As Whoopi Goldberg Kicks Them Out

Last week, we reported that Whoopi Goldberg had to kick some climate protesters out of a taping of “The View” after they tried to storm the stage during an interview with Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX). Now, the protesters have leaked new footage of what went down that shows the chaos from a different angle.

New Footage Of ‘The View’ Protest

New York Communities for Change shared the footage to Twitter and TikTok, captioning it, “BREAKING: We interrupted @TheView today to protest @ABC’s lack of climate coverage and its platforming of climate denier Ted Cruz.”

“Whoopi said, ‘Let us do our job’ — but your network is failing to do ITS job! It spent less than 6 hrs on climate in 2021!” the group added. 

Goldberg and her fellow co-hosts of “The View” had been interviewing Cruz when the protesters stood up and yelled, “Cover climate now!”

Protesters Sound Off

“ABC needs to cover climate change more instead of platforming a climate denier like Ted Cruz,” one of the protesters added as a male member of the crew tried to remove them. “ABC spent only six hours last year covering climate change and now they’re platforming someone like Ted Cruz.”

As the female protester began walking down the stairs, her fellow rioter started screaming again, “Cover climate now! Cover climate now!”

That’s when Goldberg finally had enough.

“Excuse me, excuse me! Ladies, excuse us, let us do our job,” she shouted, according to The Sun. “We hear what you have to say, but you gotta go. You gotta go, you gotta let us do our job.”

In the new clip that was shared by the protesters, someone can be heard yelling to Goldberg from the audience asking, “whose side are you on?”

Protesters Stand By Their Actions

Despite the fact that the protesters were kicked out, New York Communities for Change is standing by them. 

“Better coverage would mean frequently connecting climate events to climate change, naming fossil fuels as the key driver of the crisis, and refusing to platform climate deniers,” the group said. “ABC will say they are doing enough – but it’s still not, not for 1 of the BIGGEST STORIES of our times.”

Viewers of “The View” were left stunned by what happened during the protest. 

“#TheView is completely off the rails. The audience keeps yelling and they had to go to break during Ted Cruz,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “Dang, they went to commercial break to remove the protestors!!! Omg having to cut to a commercial because of it?!?! I knew this was going to be an epic day.” 

“Whoopi going off on the hecklers!” a third user wrote.

Cruz Responds

Cruz later dismissed the protesters as “climate radicals” in an interview with Fox News in which he defended going on “The View,” explaining that he feels it’s important to reach Americans who may not normally consume conservative media.

“I think it’s important that conservatives reach much more broadly than just preaching the choir,” Cruz said. “We need to reach a lot of the viewers of The View [who] have only seen one partisan story the whole time.”

“The View” seems to be going off the rails more than ever these days, and it was brave of Cruz to agree to go on the leftwing talk show. It’s funny that even a radically leftwing show like “The View” isn’t liberal enough for some people these days.
