Former Chicago Bears Coach Mike Ditka has an opinion of Colin Kaepernick – and it’s not good. When asked about the San Francisco quarterback’s protest of the National Anthem, Ditka didn’t hold back.
Mike Ditka On National Anthem Protest
The topic of Kaepernick’s National Anthem protests came up during a radio interview with Ditka.
“I think it’s a problem, anybody who disrespects this country and the flag,” the ESPN pundit and former NFL coach and player told KRLD-FM. “If they don’t like the country, if they don’t like our flag, get the hell out.”
And the NFL Hall of Famer wasn’t finished there.
“I have no respect for Colin Kaepernick, he probably has no respect for me,” Ditka continued. “That’s his choice. My choice is that I like this country. I respect our flag.”
“And I don’t see all the atrocities going on in this country that people say are going on,” he added. “I see opportunities if people want to look for opportunities. Now, if they don’t want to look for them, then you can find problems with anything.”
The coach concluded on a more poignant note – and with a very important reminder to all Americans.
“But this is the land of opportunity because you can be anything you want to be if you work. Now if you don’t work, that’s a different problem,” Ditka said.
That’s right, anyone who protests our symbols of freedom would do well remember they’re fortunate to have such a privilege.
Audio of Mike Ditka Blasting Colin Kaepernick
It’s clear that NFL legend Mike Ditka has had enough of this nonsense. Kaepernick wouldn’t be playing for Da Bears if Ditka was still coaching.
