Legendary actor Martin Landau passed away on Saturday of “unexpected complications” at The Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. The Oscar award winner was 89 years old.
Landau was known for roles over many decades. His star really rose when he portrayed master of disguise Rollin Hand on Mission Impossible. This had Landau performing many different accents and characters, including thugs and dictators.
He earned an Academy Award in 1995 for his role in Ed Wood. He also was nominated in 1989 for Tucker: The Man And His Dreams and in 1990 for Crimes and Misdemeanors.
Landau, who was a strong supporter of Israel, was very well respected by his fans and fellow actors. A tribute to him from the 2015 Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival can be seen below.
Landau was a tremendous actor and a fan favorite. His family certainly is grieving the loss of this very talented man. They certainly could use prayers at this time.
