Surprising rumors are swirling that Kim Kardashian is “at the top of the list” to replace Vanna White on Wheel of Fortune.
White Struggling With Pat Sajak’s Replacement
Though Pat Sajak, 77, retired at the end of last season, White decided to extend her contract two more years. This will put the 67 year-old on Wheel of Fortune until 2026 with Sajak’s replacement Ryan Seacrest, 49.
White and Seacrest have already started working on their first Wheel of Fortune episodes that are set to air in the fall. Unfortunately, insiders are saying that things are not going well between White and Seacrest. The pair are reportedly struggling to find their chemistry and rhythm on set.
This has left producers scrambling to find a replacement for White, who has been on Wheel of Fortune since 1982. Somehow, Kardashian, 43, has reportedly found herself at the top of the list that they’ve compiled.
‘Kim Kardashian Is At The Top’
“They’ve compiled a list of folks to replace Vanna, and Kim Kardashian is at the top,” an insider told Life & Style Magazine.
“Kim is a very close friend of Ryan’s and would bring a whole new audience,” the source added. “Ryan wants to make the show younger and sexier. He’s responsible for the Kardashian reality show and believes in that family more than anyone!”
Indeed, Seacrest produced the hit reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which made Kardashian and her family household names.
The source went on to claim that White was hoping that she and Seacrest could replicate the chemistry that she had with Sajak. Sadly, she’s allegedly found this task to be far from an easy one.
“After Pat quit, Vanna was optimistic about working with Ryan, but they have zero chemistry and no vibe,” the insider said. “Plus, she could be his mother!”
No former offer has been made to Kardashian at this time. However, sources close to Kardashian have said that she would be very interested in replacing White.
White Allegedly Wants To ‘Retire’
This comes one month after sources close to White told Daily Mail that she dislikes working with Seacrest so much so that she wants to back out of her contract sooner than 2026.
“Vanna is retiring from the show when her contract ends, but there is a part of her that wants to walk away sooner,” an insider close to White said. “She just doesn’t jibe with Ryan like she did with Pat, and no one really ever expected her to. There is just no way that she possibly could.”
The source went on to say that White believes she’s put in her time with the show.
“She devoted her entire life to this show and she had an incredible run while making a fortune,” this insider added, saying that White “knows that the show needs to go in a different direction and appeal to a younger demographic. She wants the show to continue.”
It’s difficult to imagine anyone taking White’s role on Wheel of Fortune. Kardashian being White’s replacement, however, will likely be especially hard to stomach for many longtime fans of the game show.
While there could be some benefits to bringing Kardashian onto Wheel of Fortune, producers might want to tread carefully on this one. It would certainly be sad to see this game show go down in flames because of this one decision.
