Music mogul and born again Christian Kanye West shocked the world late Saturday night by announcing his plans to run for president in the 2020 election. And if that wasn’t wild enough, the musician turned politician has already scored his first major endorsement.

Here’s the announcement the prolific rapper made on Twitter:

But that’s all he’s done so far. There’s no evidence that he’s filed the necessary paperwork. In some states, Texas, New Mexico, Indiana, Maine and North Carolina, the deadline has already passed. But, for others, the deadline is in August.
Kanye West Scores Elon Musk Endorsement
It didn’t take long for Kanye to score his first high-profile endorsement when his friend Elon Musk replied to his tweet by saying, “You have my full support!”

While no on expected Kanye West to run in 2020 let alone score an endorsement, the rapper previously made his presidential aspirations known.
Kanye claimed in 2019 that he did not plan to run for president until the 2024 election.
“When I run for president in 2024, we’re going to definitely — yo, whatchu [sic] all laughing at?” West said at the time. “When I run for president in 2024, we would’ve created so many jobs that, in fact, I’m going to walk.”
“What I’m saying is, when y’all read the headlines, ‘Kanye’s crazy,’ this and that, this and that, it’s like one in three African-Americans are in jail and all of the celebrities are in jail also because they can’t say nothing [sic]! They’ve got no opinion! They’re so scared!” he added.

Mike Huckabee Has A Warning For West
In the wake of Kanye West’s bombshell announcement over the weekend, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee had some words of warning for him.
“I think he’s going to be surprised to find out all of the incredible limitations upon his entertainment career the moment he becomes an official candidate for president,” Huckabee told “Fox & Friends Weekend” on Sunday.
“All of the vast financial reporting that he’s going to be required to do and all of the disclosures, some of which are not going to be pleasant for someone in the entertainment industry, and all of the limitations on the money he can earn and how he can spend it,” he added. “I think it’s going to be a rude awakening.”

Huckabee made sure to add that he has “great respect” for West.
“He seems to be a fascinating character, but he should come talk to me and maybe 16 others of us who stood on the stage with Donald Trump in 2016 and he should ask me how that goes before he really jumps into the deep end of the pool,” Huckabee said. “I might have some advice for him and I promise it would be good advice.”
Kim Kardashian West seems to be onboard as well:

Kanye West 2020?
Kanye West is one of the few entertainers out there who has been brave enough to unapologetically express his support for President Donald Trump.
He encourages people to think for themselves and openly condemns identity politics. The 43-year-old certainly isn’t shy about expressing his views and has demonstrated an ability to captivate millions.
If here were to become president, it’s likely the First Lady – Kim Kardashian – would be vocal and committed, too.
While it remains to be seen how this foray into politics will go for Kanye, one thing is for certain – the whole world will be watching.
