Rap mogul Kanye West just gave a new interview in which he opened up about his public support of President Donald Trump. The ‘Jesus Is King’ rapper doesn’t take kindly to being stereotyped and is proud to wear his MAGA hat.
Kanye West Talks Trump and MAGA
West talked to the Wall Street Journal about the backlash that he has received for supporting the president, saying that he resents fans making assumptions about him based on his race and profession.
“I’m a black guy with a red [MAGA] hat, can you imagine?” the 42 year-old rapper said. “It reminded me of how I felt as a black guy before I was famous, when I would walk in a restaurant and people would look at you like you were going to steal something. ‘This is your place, Ye, don’t talk about apparel. This is your place, Ye, you’re black, so you’re a Democrat.’”
West went on to say that his celebrity and financial status has not always protected him in life.
“Everything is about putting people in their place. Classism, protectionism—not just racism,” West said. “Classism is like living on a bookshelf. The more money you have, the higher you go. And you get to the top and look over and what do you see? Fear.”
Though some are crippled by this fear, West uses it as motivation to move forward in life.
“I do not like the word ambitious. I’m Kanye West. The word ambitious is beneath my abilities,” he explained. “I’m just a doer. You can see in my eyes there’s not one bit of fear.”
Kanye West Has Always Been A Trump Supporter
West has long been an outspoken supporter of Trump. There are countless photos of the rapper in his red MAGA hat. West supports Trump despite the fact liberals dominate the entertainment industry, and blacklist anyone who thinks differently.
West doesn’t let the risk stop him from advocating for Trump, who he famously referred to as “my brother” in April of 2018.
“You don’t have to agree with Trump but the mob can’t make me not love him,” West tweeted, according to People Magazine. “We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don’t agree with everything anyone does. That’s what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought.”
Kanye doubled down on this Trump support in January with a highly controversial tweet. His tweet read, “They will not program me. Blacks are 90 percent Democrats. That sounds like control to me.”

West is infamous for bucking norms, and his unpredictability is unparalleled. The Chicago native prides himself in being an independent and unique individual.
“One of my favorite of many things about what the Trump hat represents to me is that people can’t tell me what to do because I’m black,” West said. “We will change the world. God is on my side. I am a Christian. I am a tax payer. I am myself. God is with us.”
We Applaud Him For Being A Conservative Voice
We applaud Kanye West for encouraging his fans to think for themselves and open their minds to President Trump.
There are countless liberal voices in the entertainment world, so it’s only fair that there should be some conservative ones as well. This rap superstar and producer is certainly a rarity.
Hopefully, West continues down this conservative path and doesn’t let pressure from the radical left deter him from it.
