In the liberal entertainment world, it’s rare to find anyone who is brave enough to take a stand for President Donald Trump. That’s why it was so refreshing when rapper Kanye West spoke out to defend Trump this week while appearing on the notoriously liberal Jimmy Kimmel’s late night talk show.

Western Journal reported that Kimmel quickly politicized the interview by asking West directly if he thinks Trump is a good president. Kimmel was undoubtedly hoping that he could bait West into bashing the president, but the rapper wasn’t having any of it.

“Just as a musician, African-American, guy out in Hollywood, all these different things, everyone around me tried to pick my candidate for me and then told me every time I said I like Trump that I couldn’t say it out loud or my career would be over,” West fired back. “I’d get kicked out of the black community. Blacks are supposed to have a monolithic thought. We can only be Democrats.”

West went on to explain that it was after his 2016 hospitalization for “temporary psychosis” that made him no longer fear being honest about his opinions.

“Even when I said it right before I went to the hospital and I expressed myself and when I came out I had lost my confidence,” West said. “So I didn’t have the confidence to take on the world and the possible backlash. And it took a year and a half to have the confidence to stand up and put on the hat no matter what the consequences were.”

West doubled down on this again later in the interview.

“You can’t bully me,” West told Kimmel. “The liberals can’t bully me. The news can’t bully me. The hip-hop community can’t bully me.”

It’s so refreshing to see an entertainer actually thinking for themselves! West could not be more right about the way Democrats view the black community. Liberals have made it so that blacks and other minorities are told that they can’t think for themselves and must automatically vote for Democratic candidates. We need more entertainers like West to serve as an example for independent thinkers!
