Last week, Megyn Kelly was fired from NBC after she made a comment about blackface on live television. Liberals wasted no time in using this slip up to get Kelly fired and promptly blacklisted from the world of television.

Now, Kelly is being defended by a very unlikely person.

Jane Fonda of all people just spoke out to offer some words of defense for Kelly. This was particularly surprising given the fact that Fonda and Kelly had a very public feud during the first week of the Kelly’s NBC show in the fall of 2017.

This week, however, Fonda slightly defended Kelly.

“I feel badly, because, you know, I wanted her to make it, I did,” Fonda claimed, according to AOL. “That’s always how everyone learns, through making mistakes. It’s through failure that we grow and learn. I know that has been true for me, and I think it is for everybody.”

Fonda speaking from a place of liberal privilege

I have to say that Fonda is speaking from a soapbox of liberal privilege here. In the modern entertainment world, liberals are allowed to make mistakes, learn from them, and move on with life. Conservatives, however, see themselves being blacklisted from Hollywood and television for life from just one single mistake. This is what happened to Roseanne Barr, whose life was ruined over a single tweet last May, and this is now happening to Kelly.

Liberals were never going to forgive Kelly for her time at Fox News, which is why it was foolish of her to even go to NBC in the first place. The left was just waiting for her to slip up one time so that they could pull out their pitchforks and take her down, and she gave them that opportunity last week. While it’s nice of Fonda to offer some support for Kelly, we find it hard to believe that the notoriously liberal radical actress was ever rooting for her at all.
