Tommy Lee Jones is probably my favorite actor, and today, I get to celebrate him because it is his 76th birthday!
As a fellow Texan, I always loved that Jones never let his drawl go away throughout his nearly 60-year career. Here are a few of my favorite moments and movie roles from his storied time in Hollywood.

‘The Fugitive’
This iconic line was actually a mistake, as Jones had forgotten his line and improvised, leading to this classic.
One moment in “The Fugitive” film from 1993
Doctor (Ford) is accused of killing his wife & is on the run. US Marshal confronts him in dam water pipes
Ford picks up his dropped firearm & says:
“I didn’t kill my wife”Marshall says: “I DON’T CARE”

Doolittle Lynn In ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’
April 12 ~ movie you would not normally watch
The Coal Miner’s Daughter (1980)
Totally outside my norm.. country.. musical (sort of), but Sissy Spacek is great as Loretta Lynn & Tommy Lee Jones, too, as her husband Doolittle. https://t.co/ZggfyQlkOt pic.twitter.com/BCeiU2Zua2

An Overwhelmed Sheriff In ‘No Country For Old Men’
‘Okay… I’ll be part of this world.’ The wistful tone set by Tommy Lee Jones, in his voice-over narration of Sheriff Ed Tom Bell’s lament at the start of NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN (2007), perfectly sets the mood for how the rest of the tale will unfold. #BOTD #TommyLeeJones pic.twitter.com/clLchBgqHG

Other Great Tommy Lee Jones Movies
Besides all of these hits above, here are a few underrated and underappreciated roles of the San Saba, Texas native:
- Lonesome Dove. Probably the best western short of The Searchers.
- Ad Astra. Worst. Dad. Ever!
- The Hunted. Underrated thriller
Happy birthday, Tommy Lee Jones!
