Andrea Bocelli, one of the world’s best singers who is considered by many to be the greatest tenor of all time, celebrates his 64th birthday today.
Let’s celebrate one of the world’s most beautiful singers with a look back at his life and music.
From Struggle, Came Beautiful Music
Despite being completely blind since the age of 12, Bocelli never let his disability get in his way or become an excuse.
Andrea Bocelli is blind but prefers not to talk about it. Instead, he uses his voice to sing – and what a voice it is. To celebrate his birthday, #60Mins look back to 2008 when the beloved Italian tenor serenaded a very lucky Tara Brown.

With little formal training, Bocelli went from singing in bars to becoming one of the most successful recording artists in the world. His albums helped bring classical music back into the mainstream and gave rise to singers like Josh Groban and Charlotte Church.
His Concerts Are Legendary
Bocelli is considered to be one of the best live acts in all of music.

I was at the Andrea Bocelli concert in the hydro ! It was so classy ! The talent of the royal philharmonic and wonderful singers ! World class ! Maybe the old fashioned education of pronouncing t’s and speaking correctly is maybe needing a revival! It was so refreshing! Elegant

Bocelli even performed for Queen Elizabeth at her Platinum Jubliee back in June, which turned out to be just three months before she would pass away at the age of 96.
