It’s been quite an eventful week since Elon Musk bought Twitter, with some of his first acts as owner of the social media platform including possibly deactivating the account of his ex-girlfriend Amber Heard, and messing with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

Amber Heard’s Twitter Deactivated
Fox News reported that the Twitter account of Heard, who made headlines earlier this year for making abuse allegations against her ex-husband Johnny Depp, had been deactivated as of Thursday night. It’s unclear if Heard deactivated her Twitter herself, or if Musk is the person behind it.
Heard claimed in 2018 that she had a “beautiful relationship” with Musk.
“Elon and I had a beautiful relationship, and we have a beautiful friendship now, one that was based on our core values. Intellectual curiosity, ideas and conversation, a shared love for science,” she said at the time. “We just bonded on a lot of things that speak to who I am on the inside. I have so much respect for him.”
Musk and Heard would go on to break up later that year.
This comes months after Heard came up short in Depp’s defamation trial against her despite giving “the performance of her life” during testimony. Musk weighed in on Twitter during the trial, saying, “I hope they both move on. At their best, they are each incredible.”
Depp was ultimately awarded $10.3 million in damages after a jury took his side over Heard’s in the trial, ruling that she had defamed him in a 2018 op-ed she wrote about alleged domestic abuse.

Musk has also struck up a rivalry with Ocasio-Cortez, who is known as a radically liberal congresswoman, in the days since he’s taken over Twitter.

Ocasio-Cortez specifically took issue with Musk’s plans to charge $8 a month for a Twitter blue check subscription.
“Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that ‘free speech’ is actually a $8/mo subscription plan,” she tweeted.
“Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8,” Musk tweeted her back in response.

CBS News reported that Ocasio-Cortez has since claimed that her Twitter “mentions/notifications conveniently aren’t working” in the wake of Musk buying the social media platform. She later alleged that the “Verified” tab of her account, which should be populated with tweets from verified creators, was appearing empty for her.
“This is what my app has looked like ever since my tweet upset you yesterday,” she tweeted. “What’s good? Doesn’t seem very free speechy to me.”
Yo @elonmusk while I have your attention, why should people pay $8 just for their app to get bricked when they say something you don’t like?

Musk Sounds Off
Musk revealed on Friday that Twitter has seen a “massive drop in revenue” thanks to advertisers pausing their spending on the social media site, according to CNBC.
“Twitter has had a massive drop in revenue, due to activist groups pressuring advertisers, even though nothing has changed with content moderation and we did everything we could to appease the activists,” he tweeted. “Extremely messed up! They’re trying to destroy free speech in America.”

Musk doubled down on this in a press conference later in the day.
“We’ve made no change in our operations at all,” Musk said. “And we’ve done our absolute best to appease them and nothing is working. So this is a major concern. And I think this is frankly an attack on the First Amendment.”

In the week since he bought Twitter, Musk has fired or laid off approximately 50% of staffers. Liberals have been losing their mind over his acquisition of Twitter, but given what he’s done with the site so far, we can’t wait to see what he has planned for it next!
