Sean “Diddy” Combs made a rather bold statement that he probably won’t be able to deliver on. The rapper turned businessman wants to buy the Carolina Panthers and sign Colin Kaepernick as quarterback next season. But, that’s not all.

Panthers owner Jerry Richardson has announced that he is selling the franchise in the wake of sexual harassment allegations. The team, which is valued at $2.3 billion, will soon be getting a new owner. Diddy’s worth is estimated at $820 million, meaning that he will require partners to fulfill this promise.

Golden State Warrior Steph Curry tweeted he will pitch in for ownership of this team. However, it is unclear if the NFL owners would approve of a current NBA player owning an NFL team.

Never one to make minuscule promises, Diddy upped his game by saying, “Also, I will have the best halftime show, the best selection of music, and we will win Super Bowl after Super Bowl.” This is a comical promise. Diddy knows nothing about owning and managing an NFL team. With his experience level, he would probably turn the Carolina Panthers into the next Cleveland Browns – winless.

With these inflated promises and Kaepernick as quarterback, it is likely that Diddy would drive this team right into the ground. Carolina fans would not take well to Kaepernick’s protest during the National Anthem. That will hurt revenue and if a team isn’t making money, there will be a downward spiral.

Combs says it is time for there to be an African-American majority owner in the NFL. If that is true, shouldn’t the owner be someone with experience in this realm?

Fans don’t want to see Colin Kaepernick on the field. He opted out of his contract with the 49ers. He doesn’t deserve a contract and if Diddy buys an NFL team and signs the disgraced quarterback, the joke will be on him as well. They might end up in the poor house together!
