Last year, we reported that Chris Pratt had received backlash from the “woke” brigade after he thanked his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger for giving him a “healthy daughter.” The “woke” crowd twisted the sweet post and claimed it was a dig at Pratt’s ex-wife Anna Paris, with whom he has a son who was born two weeks premature with numerous health issues in the weeks after his birth.

People Magazine reported that the initial post had been meant to praise Schwarzenegger, with Pratt saying that she has “given me an amazing life, a gorgeous healthy daughter, she chews so loudly that sometimes I put in my ear buds to drown it out, but that’s love!”

In a new interview, Pratt addressed the backlash he received for the post for the first time, admitting that he “cried” over it.

‘That Is F****d Up’

“I said something like, ‘Find someone who looks at you the way my wife looks at me.’ And then I gave her some s— in the thing and said, ‘But I love you. I’m so thankful for my wife — she gave me a beautiful, healthy daughter,'” Pratt recalled to Men’s Health.

“And then a bunch of articles came out and said, ‘That’s so cringeworthy. I can’t believe Chris Pratt would thank her for a healthy daughter when his first child was born premature. That’s such a dig at his ex-wife,'” he continued.

Pratt went on to fire back directly at the people who complained about his comments.

“I’m like, That is f—d up,” he said. “My son’s gonna read that one day. He’s 9. And it’s etched in digital stone. It really f—ing bothered me, dude. I cried about it. I was like, I hate that these blessings in my life are — to the people close to me — a real burden.”

Pratt Discusses His Children – Gets Defended By Maria Shriver

At the premiere for his new series “The Terminal List,” Pratt said that his son Jack is a great big brother to his 22 month-old daughter Lyla, and to his newborn daughter Eloise.

“There’s a big age separation… [and] he does a great job, he’s so sweet with them,” Pratt told Entertainment Tonight. “And they love him so much and they miss him when he’s gone.”

In the wake of the initial backlash he received over his “healthy daughter” comments, Pratt was defended by his mother-in-law Maria Shriver.

“I want to remind you today what a good man you are,” Shriver wrote in the comment section of his post, according to E! Online. “What a great father you are to Jack and Lyla, what a great husband you are to Katherine, what a great son in law you are to me and what a great sense of humor you have!”

“Keep being your wonderful self, rise above the noise,” she continued.

Pratt On Arnold Schwarzenegger

In his latest interview, Pratt was asked what one thing is that would surprise people about his father-in-law, the legendary star and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

“Gift giving is absolutely one of his love languages,” Pratt replied. “The most thoughtful gifts you could imagine, like quilts with all of the baby’s pictures on it. He gave us these—I don’t know what you’d call them—like statues carved out of wood. Nativity statues. They’re from Oberammergau in [Germany].”

Pratt seems to epitomize what it is to be a good family man, and it’s sad that we live in a world where innocent comments he made about his children were twisted in such an evil way by a “woke” crowd of internet users who may have a problem with the fact that the actor has expressed conservative Christian views in the past.

We applaud Pratt for firing back at these sad internet haters, because they really need to get a life.
