“Little People, Big World” fans were shocked earlier this summer when Jeremy and Audrey Roloff announced they were not returning to the show.

There were many rumors about what led to them exit the beloved family reality program, including chatter that Audrey was pregnant again. Now, Audrey has revealed the truth about why the couple made this decision.

In an appearance on Jenna Kutcher’s “Goal Digger” podcast, the mother explained the intrusive nature of the cameras was simply too much to handle.

“You never get used to it. It’s just a weird thing,” Roloff said. “We aren’t made for the spotlight.”

The TV crew would take over their house to have it up to show standards. That often meant removing personal effects and making everything stage perfect. This proved to be intrusive and demoralizing, particularly when you add in the stress of being the mother of an infant.

“People are coming into your house, turning all your books backwards and covering your body with tape because there can’t be any logos; and lights everywhere and camera crewmen,” she said. “It’s just very invasive.”

“Segueing away from the cameras [has] been a big shift for us,” Audrey said. “But we are really excited about just being able to really press into writing and speaking and creating and just devoting all of our efforts in the things that we feel the Lord has called us to, and also raising a family away from the cameras.”

Audrey has been the target of a tremendous amount of mommy shaming. Perhaps that will subside now that she’ll no longer appear on the show.

While they won’t appear on future episodes of “Little People, Big World,” this hasn’t hasn’t affected their relationships with the other Roloff family members. Earlier this month, the Roloffs went to Michigan for a two-week vacation. This growing family looks to have had a fun time together.
