When “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek began trending on social media Thursday, many fans feared the worst given the fact that the host is still battling pancreatic cancer. Thankfully, the real reason the beloved games show host was trending ended up being nothing bad at all, and instead turned out to be a hilarious clip that true “Jeopardy!” fans will get a kick out of.

Fans Unearth Old ‘Jeopardy’ Clip

According to The New York Post, “Jeopardy!” announced this week that the last day to watch a new episode of the game show is May 1, as it is now on hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This prompted fans to take a walk down memory lane, and a 2016 clip of Trebek surfaced that immediately had the internet cracking up.

In the clip, Trebek introduces contestant Susan Cole by saying, “Her favorite type of music is something I’ve never heard of, but it doesn’t sound like fun.”

“I think it’s very fun. It’s called nerd-core hip-hop,” she said, going on to explain the subject matter of nerd-core rap, which includes “video games, science fiction, having a hard time meeting romantic partners.”

After pausing a second for laughter, Trebek then quips, “Losers, in other words.”
