Adele Breaks Records With New Hit Single

Adele is back! The UK siren returns after a six-year hiatus with her new album 30. To kick off the long-awaited record, Adele released her new song “Easy On Me” and it is already breaking records on Spotify.

Here is what Adele had to say about the writing process for her new record:

“I was certainly nowhere near where I’d hoped to be when I first started it nearly 3 years ago,” she wrote. “Quite the opposite actually. I rely on routine and consistency to feel safe, I always have. And yet there I was knowingly — willingly even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil!”

What Easy On Me Meant To Me

These lyrics, at least to me, speak to the pain and confusion of those who marry and divorce at a young age.

Go easy on mе, baby
I was still a child
Didn’t get the chance to
Feel thе world around me
Had no time to choose what I chose to do

I went through a divorce at 30. It was difficult and it hurt. When I went out into the world I found myself to still be the 22-year-old who got into a long, fraught relationship.

I had also grown more than I thought. But it was still a challenge to navigate a world that had changed so much since I had last stepped into it alone. I also asked people to go “Easy on me” as I navigated the first time I was single as an adult.

Adele is a talent that crosses national and racial bounds. Her powerful alto voice can sing Soul, R&B, Jazz, and Pop with ease. Her new single brings back her powerful ballad skills. She is probably the best female ballad singer going right now. 

Oprah To Interview Adele

Adele One Night Only will air on November 14th on Paramount+ and CBS. The event will feature a concert from Adele and an interview with Oprah.
