Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno are going to throw hands next Saturday, in the fastest, turn-around title fight in UFC history. In advance of the compelling and historic fight, Dan Hardy broke down the UFC 256 headliners.
Figueiredo versus Moreno
Figueiredo and Moreno agreed to step-up and battle at UFC 256, after the card incurred, multiple setbacks. Originally, champions Kamaru Usman and Amanda Nunes were supposed to fight Gilbert Burns and Megan Anderson respectively, but injuries forced their withdrawal.
Then, bantamweight champ Petr Yan was booked to fight Aljamain Sterling at the December 12th card. But, not long ago Yan withdrew from the card.
So, following the flyweight champ’s impressive, submission win over Alex Perez at UFC 255, and Moreno’s stoppage of Brandon Royval that same night, Figueiredo – Moreno was added to UFC 256.
The fight is the quickest, turn-around title fight – 21 days – in UFC history.
