It has not been a good few weeks for the boss, and now there is more bad news for Vince McMahon. And, a former NXT trio is reuniting.
More Bad News For Vince McMahon
It has been a notable last month or so for him, and the hits keep coming. There is more bad news coming out for Vince McMahon.
If you somehow missed it, Vince McMahon is being investigated for a sizable hush money payment he made, to keep a past affair quiet.
As that investigation is ongoing, he has stepped aside as WWE Chairman temporarily. Or, he hopes it is just temporary.
The situation resulted in WWE bringing back Stephanie McMahon to fill her father’s shoes…shortly after she had announced she was taking a leave of absence,.
Well, there is more bad news for Vince McMahon.
No, this time it has nothing to do with his Oliver Luck-XFL fun.
It is not him paying another woman hush money for another affair, either.
Instead, in a report getting coverage by some rather mainstream sources, a former WWE wrestler is now backing up a horrible report.
Specifically, it has been reported that in 1986, McMahon raped the company’s first female referee.
The referee, Rita Chatterton, first made the allegations in 1992. Nothing happened, as the statute of limitations for reporting such a crime had passed.
At the time of the alleged assault, she seems to have confided in a former wrestler. That former wrestler, with the ring name Mario Mancini, confirmed that in a story posted in New York magazine.
The former Mancini has a book about Vince McMahon coming out in 2022, so we might expect some more stories coming to light between now and then.
For now, it’s just more bad news for Vince McMahon.
Former NXT Trio Reuniting
Splitting them up was one of the worst decisions WWE had made, but now a former NXT trio is reuniting.
Sadly, they are not reuniting in or for WWE.
Back in NXT, Paul Ellering introduced us to the Authors of Pain. The duo dominated and claimed gold.
They should have been a strong main roster threat…but as they were promoted, Ellering was not included.
Some said Paul didn’t want the main roster travel grind, but it seemed more due to Vince hating managers.
Whatever the reason, they were split up, and AOP didn’t do so hot. And, now they aren’t in WWE.
The pair have formed their own promotion, and per the promotion’s tweet, they are getting their own band back together.

The pair, now known as the Legion of Pain, will reunite with their former manager Ellering, on the July event.
Ellering, of course, is a Hall of Fame manager. Pairing him with the duo in NXT worked out well.
It will be interesting to see how the reunion works out, or if they might ever land on the radar of AEW or back with WWE.
