Before the Superstar Shakeup, the SmackDown Women’s Division was the one to beat, but with the move of Alexa Bliss to RAW, it seems like many wrestling fans find the current women’s division on SmackDown underwhelming. So, what is the problem with SmackDown? Let’s find out!

Naomi Does Not Stand Out from the Other Female Wrestlers?

Even though I personally do not agree with this opinion, most in the WWE Universe find that Naomi does not stand out from the other female wrestlers on the SmackDown roster.

Even though I agree she needs better mic skills, I do think she has something unique going on. The real problem in my opinion, is the lack of an in-depth story for the current champion, since the focus lies on all the women on the SmackDown roster.

Rivalry Between Naomi and Natalya Not Interesting Enough

I would be the first to tell you that nobody is more deserving of a title shot than Natalya at this point. However, the rivalry between Naomi and Natalya has left much to be desired in the eyes of the universe.

Even though I think Natalya is more than deserving, I have to agree that I’m not that excited for the match itself. Still, since SummerSlam is one of the biggest pay-per-view events of the year, the women might pull out all the stops for this one.

Another question is if the brand would benefit from having Natalya as a champion after SummerSlam? It would make room for some new story-lines that could be interesting!

Carmella Cash-In?

Not everyone was excited about Carmella winning the first women’s Money in the Bank. I’m not a huge fan of Carmella at this point, but a cash-in during the women’s match at SummerSlam could make the entire event a lot more interesting. However, I do not want Carmella to become the champion, I’d still like to see Natalya take the title home.

Failed Combination of Lana & Tamina?

It seems like Lana and Tamina have joined forces, but not everyone is happy about it. Personally, I thought it was intriguing and interesting. Unfortunately, not much has happened with this team story-wise.

While it is true that Lana and Tamina are the most underestimated wrestlers on the SmackDown women’s division, pairing them together might not be such a bad idea. Tamina is a genuine power house and Lana is incredibly creative. Together, they could put on something beautiful.

Of course, you also have to wonder what the possibilities are on SmackDown for a women’s tag team division. I honestly believe that a tag team division could light up the competition a little more and draw the audience back to SmackDown.

What do you think should happen with the SmackDown Women’s Division at this point? Should the WWE continue with its current format, or should the WWE implement changes such as a tag team division and a different champion? Let us know your unsalted opinions in the comment section below, and we look forward to reading them!
