Last week, we reported that a planned terrorist attack on Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna, Austria was thwarted. Swift is currently preparing to perform at Wembley Stadium in London starting on Thursday, but her fans will not be happy about new rules designed to protect the show from terrorism.

Wembley Stadium Announces Ban

Wembley Stadium has announced that it will be banning Swift fans who don’t have tickets to her shows from gathering outside the venue. Any fans who gather outside of the London venue during her shows will be moved elsewhere.

“To support with the safe entry and exit of everyone within the stadium, no one is allowed to stand outside any entrance or on the Olympic Steps at the front of the stadium,” Wembley Stadium said in a statement. “Non ticket holders will be moved on.”

The statement went on to say that overnight camping outside the stadium is also prohibited.

Why is this a big deal? During her shows, fans who don’t have tickets typically gather outside the concert venues and sing along to her songs.

Swift’s Munich Performance

Last month, while Swift performed in Munich, Germany, her fans gathered on a hilly park adjacent to the Olympiastadion venue so that they could watch. Swift later said that 50,000 fans turned up in this park to watch her show.

“I’ve been watching so many videos of the crowds out there fully participating in the show from afar, all that joy,” she said. “I’m feeling really grateful for the unexpected memories this tour has created.”

This comes after Swift’s three planned concerts in Vienna, Austria were cancelled last week in response to a thwarted terrorist attack. Three teenagers reportedly radicalized by ISIS had planned to “kill as many people as possible outside the concert venue.”

Security Expert Weighs In

Despite this, Swift is moving forward with her London concerts. A security expert told Fox News that there will likely be “additional layers of protection” for the Wembley Stadium concerts.

“Taylor Swift’s team is likely implementing additional layers of protection to ensure her own safety, as well as her fans’ and the public’s safety,” said Julian Moro, SVP and regional security director at International SOS.

While it is not known what the exact measures may be, we can assume this could include increasing security personnel, limiting public appearances and interactions and reassessing travel routes,” he continued. “It also will likely include making sure that there’s additional security at and around the venues where she’ll perform for the remainder of her tour.”

No Terror Threats At This Time

London’s Metropolitan Police told CBS News on Tuesday that there are no current terrorist threats to these concerts.

“London plays hosts to a significant number of very high profile events each year with millions of visitors having a safe and enjoyable experience,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson. “The Met works closely with venue security teams and other partners to ensure there are appropriate security and policing plans in place.”

Please join us in saying a prayer that Swift’s London concerts are able to be completed safely!
